Dear user,

Below you will find information on how the content of this site is organized and how you can get the most out of this site.

The basic text content of the site is given in six main parts. Apart from these six parts Dictionary, Frequently Asked Questions, and Addenda may also be of use to you.

Part 1: Basics of Medical Writing covers the most basic issues you need to know about medical writing. Subjects such as the basic features of scientific studies, the points to be considered in medical writing, and the selection of the journal to which the article will be sent are included in this section. Especially researchers at the beginning of academic life can benefit from the information in this part.

The care taken in the preparation of a submitted article is as important as its scientific content, because in the eyes of the editors and referees who do not know the authors of the article and do not know the environment in which they work, the care shown while preparing the article is a reflection of the care shown during the research. An article that is written without paying attention to grammar, spelling, and punctuation, and that contains many simple mistakes raises serious questions about the quality of the research in the eyes of those who evaluate it, and the probability of that article being published decreases. This issue, which is of vital importance, is unfortunately ignored by many authors. Part 2: Basic Grammar and Essential Information has been arranged to include the basic information needed by an author preparing an article in health sciences.

Part 3: Writing Parts of a Manuscript covers the subject of step-by-step article writing. In this part, you can find information about all the components of an article, from choosing the article title to editing photos and tables. The sentence patterns and example sentences given in this part will help you express what you want in the most accurate way.

Part 4: How to Improve Your Manuscript talks about how an article can be made more suitable for publication with small touches after it has been written. Used in conjunction with Chapter 3, this chapter will be of great help to you in article writing.

You have prepared your manuscript and now it is time to submit it to the journal. Information about the manuscript evaluation process, what you should pay attention to when writing a cover page or cover letter, what information should be included are covered in Part 5: Communication with the Journal. This part also includes sample texts that you can use to communicate with the editor, and sample sentences that you can write in response to the referees regarding the changes you have made in your article for which correction is requested.

Ethical issues are among the topics of increasing importance in scientific research and publishing lately. Topics such as the conditions for being an author, the necessary permissions for human and animal experiments, and plagiarism are mentioned in Part 6: Ethical Issues. Especially young researchers at the beginning of academic life must know and apply these issues well.
